Claustrophobia. For Cinder, listening back to what they’ve recorded, that is the central theme of their debut EP, ‘Vows to Boscobel’. Admittedly, there’s not a lot of sonic crossover between the five tracks, but that was never the goal. Treading the same ground seems futile, and whilst there are throughlines amongst the noise, every track easily stands on its own. There is a world that exists within this EP of discomfort and yearning, but at the forefront are strong hooks and compelling lyricism.
