Grace is Born’s style director. Not only does she work with our clients but also manages the Born creative team. Grace has been a make-up artist for over nine years specialising in trans beauty.
From an early age Grace had been enthralled by the transformative power of make-up. The difference that can be achieved by applying colour, texture and shade to the face and body still amazes her, and has fuelled her career as a make-up artist.
Grace has a particular interest in facial feminisation as she is a transgendered woman. Having worked in a number of industries, including film and theatre, Grace has learned to deliver a bespoke, high standard service in a variety of fast paced and demanding environments. From spectacular other worldly transformations to subtle touches of drama for everyday wear, she can develop the look you desire.
Got her entertainment badge in the cubs then left! Now many years later she is a contemporary queer theatre performer and writer, cabaret artist and facilitator. She is currently on a national tour with her award winning show Big Girls Blouse making a song and dance about being a transgender kid in the 70s. Each performance is followed by a Q and A to help answer questions and shine a light on trans issues and visibility.
This year she hosted trans pride in Brighton to 3000 people, became the patron of the Manchester lesbian and gay chorus and an ambassador and model for Born. She also fundraises for the trans charity Mermaids. “Furiously funny” Sunday Times style magazine “A Manchester legend” Time out
