‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’ follows two young women, Rory and Maisie, in the final week of living together before stepping into the unknown of adulthood - a situation that may feel all too familiar. Set within the walls of a slowly emptying flat, the piece captures the strange in-between of your twenties: where everything is about to change but hasn’t quite yet. Through the quiet reality of half-packed boxes, endless ‘lasts’, and constant bittersweet moments they navigate the excitement and underlying fear of what comes next. As the outside world begins to creep in, so do the expectations; to succeed, to be independent, to have it all figured out. With humour, music, and moments of raw honesty, ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’ explores female friendship, identity, and the pressure of becoming.
