Blank Cheque are a Manchester based 4-piece band playing a blend of Indie/Reggae/Ska. Sounds fun, right? It is!

The band, fronted by twin brothers Tom and Josh Phillips and backed up by Ian Baguley (drums) and Josh Taylor (bass), pride themselves on their infectious energy they bring to live shows - and they’ve finally honed all of those vibes into their new 3 track EP ‘Times Have Changed’.

Throughout the EP, you can hear all of the influences Blank Cheque fuse into the melting pot. With an Arctic Monkeys-like vocal sound throughout, the bounce of the Reggae/Ska sound is felt in the groovy opener and title track ‘Times Have Changed’ - the main event being a huge saxophone solo. The more raw Reggae sound is felt in second track ‘Malibu’ with a relaxed, positive feel to this one - still plenty of horns and big choruses! The release is rounded off nicely with a well written more traditional Indie track, ‘Liar’. The heavier guitar sound is introduced and there are catchy hooks all over the place.

Front-man and guitarist Tom Phillips said, “It feels great to have this EP ready to go because we’ve spent a lot of time joining up our thoughts. A huge amount of effort has gone into the tracks during both the writing process and production to make sure we get the sound and the energy we bring in our live shows into the record.”

Tom’s brother, the sax-man, Josh went on to say, “We’re fortunate to have worked with some fantastic people to get that sound just as we wanted; and likewise away from the studio, many talented people have come together to help us get this project together. The artwork for the EP is really striking and reflects the music perfectly, and the music video to ‘Liar’ was loads of fun!”
