Sandkings hit Yellow Arch THIS FRIDAY
After last year’s triumphant sold out return in their home town of Wolverhampton, Sandkings are back to reclaim their crown. Following the release of three Anthologies on the renowned Revolver Records label, original members Glenn Dodd, David Brown and Terry Kirkbride are back and fronted by long-time friend and Sheffield’s own Vince Cocker for what is very much a case of unfinished business. Contemporaries of other West Midlands bands such as The Wonder Stuff and Pop Will Eat Itself, Sandkings had success in the late 1980s and early 1990s after signing to London Records. With a number of brilliantly received singles and a debut album, they went on to tour with The Stone Roses and support other major bands of the day such as the Stuffies, Levellers and Jesus Jones as well as selling out their own headline shows. With new material in the pipeline, Sandkings will be coming to Yellow Arch as they warm up for a performance at Shiiine On Festival in November. Grab a ticket now!

This week: FRANZ VON and OMAR
Two MASSIVE shows this week Franz Von Friday 29th Born in Jamaica, but now a central part of Sheffield’s hip-hop, afro and soundsystem culture, Franz Von is a MOBO-endorsed wordsmith, fusing rap, boom-bap and dancehall stylings with spoken word to create a distinctive blend with social commentary at the forefront. Perhaps best known as the high-octane emcee of UK jazz fusionists TC & The Groove Family and much loved afrofusion kings K.O.G. & The Zongo Brigade, 2025 sees him make a return as a solo artist, sharing his debut album ‘Take What You Want’ Omar Sunday 31st Celebrating 40 years in music, Omar Lyefook MBE—one of the UK’s most celebrated soul artists—returns with his new album Brighter The Days. Since his timeless breakthrough hit There’s Nothing Like This, Omar has defined British soul, blending jazz, funk, R&B, and Caribbean influences into a sound entirely his own. Supported by steel city legend STEVE EDWARDS
