Shapes are much more than just a DJ duo, however. In a nutshell, they combine commercialized, well-known vocals taken from hit records of thelast 20 years with hard-hitting, bass heavy anthems that would get even the most seasoned ravers stomping. They provide something to singalong to and something to skank out to simultaneously, which creates an unbelievable energy in any venue, large or small.

Of course, there are many DJs that can provide something similar to the above using clever edits or pre-made mash-ups, but what makes Shapes unique is that they both work tirelessly for the entire set creating these mash-ups completely live across 4 decks. That’s nothing pre-recorded and nothing pre-edited, just 100% teamwork.

Just over a year ago, you could have seen Shapes in their early stages playing around Kent, notably holding residencies at Kent’s two biggest and most reputable nightclubs. And then it all changed in February 2016 when the boys launched the first of their extremely popular social media video minimixes called the #GASMinimix. All of a sudden, the whole country wanted a piece of Shapes.

Fast forward more than 10 #GASMinimix’s later, Shapes have played main stages at South West Four, Southbeats Festival, CT1 and Party At The Races festivals during the summer, played at London’s Ministry Of Sound Club twice, played headline sets in many cities around the UK and had 2 guestmixes broadcast on BBC Radio 1Xtra (one of which was called the “best ever midday mix” by Yasser). Oh, and they’ve gained nearly a million
plays on mixes on Soundcloud and Mixcloud, well over a million plays on mixes on Facebook and gained tens of thousands of supporters and fans while doing it. These are simply numbers that you can’t argue with – Shapes are making big waves in the UK nightlife scene right now.

Shaun Dean, Bradford/Huddersfield based music producer. Music Tutor & Sessional worker “Shaun Dean” is a well established name within the Bassline, UK Bass / UKG Scene. Over the past 3 years Shaun has gone from strength to strength with his music productions & creative DJ skills. With his signature Bassline style Shaun incorporates catchy chord progressions, hard hitting 4x4 drums combined with quality vocals and hard hitting melodic Basslines. This original style has brought inspiration and a new life to the current Bassline scene being a flagship producer for the new school producers. 

Shaun Dean has been involved with the music industry for over 10 years now and has gained a lot of knowledge and technical ability. Shaun is one of the best technical DJ’s around within the current Bassline scene, delivering a showcase that captures his audience.
