With an international cult fanbase already hanging on her every note, Natalie Evans’s debut album ‘Better At Night’ saw her intricate compositions and characterful vocals reaching more ears than ever before on its release in 2018 via Small Pond recordings. While winning new fans, her new material has also been met with excitement by existing followers of her work (which includes guest vocals on Delta Sleep’s “Camp Adventure” – a cult hit with more than 3 million Spotify plays).

Evans’s new songs have continued to luxuriate in the vivid minutiae of life, channelling themes of nostalgia, the passing of time and human connection with a poetic lightness of touch. Bonniesongs’s unique style ranges from banjo-based folk songs with sweet melodies to looping grungy polyrhythms created between guitar, vocals and drums. Her delicate vocal style tells stories of mice, birds, monsters, death and video games. Bonniesongs’s ethereal qualities beguile you into a dreamlike trance in the style of contemporary folk/alternative artists such as Joanna Newsom and Bjork.

Bonnie’s sweet ethereal vocals sail over the polyrhythmic backgrounds created between her guitar, percussion and vocal loops. Her imaginative lyrics tell stories of treehouses, mice, birds, flying and video games.
Described as “dreamy experimental indie folk” and compared to artists such as Bjork and Joanna Newsom, Bonniesongs is creating a unique sound in the Sydney songwriting scene.
