Skate Island UK is a premier roller-skating festival and entertainment experience coming to Newcastle Racecourse (High Gosforth Park, Newcastle upon Tyne) from 2 April to 31 May 2026. The event transforms the iconic racecourse space into a vibrant roller rink and social destination featuring themed skating sessions, music, food and drink, and community-focused fun.
Designed for all ages and abilities, Skate Island blends the nostalgia of classic roller disco with modern entertainment — from student nights and themed Friday events to family-friendly sessions on weekends. Each ticket includes a 90-minute skating slot with skate hire available, and skaters are invited to dress up and join immersive disco-style experience

Booking Finality: Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Late Arrival: For any late arrivals we will try our upmost to find a new time slot on the day - albeit if not possible no refunds will be provided for a missed session time, and another day/slot will be offered.
Supervision: Our BeachClub Entertainment area is free to enter / free viewing area available for non-skaters / Children under 8 must be accompanied by a paying adult onto the rink at all times.
2. Skate Hire & Equipment
Hire Inclusion: A valid ticket entitles the holder to one pair of rental skates for their specific session.
Hygiene: For health and hygiene reasons, all persons using rental skates must wear socks.
Damage/Theft: Failure to return rental skates or safety gear is considered theft. Customers are responsible for any damage beyond normal wear and tear.
Personal Skates: If guests bring their own, skates must be clean, in good repair, and have non-marking wheels/stoppers. No Inline skates allowed.
3. Rink Rules & Safety
Assumption of Risk: Participation is at the skater's own risk. The venue is typically not liable for injuries from falls or collisions unless caused by negligence.
Prohibited Items: No food, drink, or chewing gum is allowed on the rink.
Electronic Devices: Headphones while skating is strictly prohibited for safety.
4. Health & Medical
Physical Fitness: Skaters must be physically fit to participate. It is often recommended that those with heart conditions, back/joint problems, or who are pregnant do not skate.
Safety Gear: While hire may include skates, although not required, we recommend the use of helmets and wrist guards (especially for u16s)
5. Media & Privacy
Photography: By entering the site, ticket holders give consent to being photographed or filmed for promotional purposes. No u18s pictures will be used or stored without consent from the parents or guardian. If you object to any of this please let us know when you arrive.
