Space For Girls: November Walk🤍

Join Space for Girls for our September canal walk: a relaxed, beginner-friendly social walk through Birmingham.

We’ll follow the Birmingham Canal towpath from Gas Street Basin towards Smethwick Locks before returning along the same route. The walk will be approximately 9.2 km/5.7 miles and is expected to take between two and three hours.

This is an easy-paced social walk designed to help women meet new people, enjoy some fresh air and explore Birmingham together. You are more than welcome to attend alone — many of our attendees do!

What to bring

Please wear comfortable, supportive walking shoes and bring:

• Water
• A light waterproof jacket
• Any snacks you may want

The route is mostly flat, but some areas of the towpath may be uneven or slippery, particularly if it has been raining. Please check the weather before attending and dress appropriately.

Getting there

The meeting point is in Birmingham city centre and is within walking distance of Birmingham New Street Station. Several bus and tram stops are also located nearby.

Italian food afterwards

After the walk, we’ll be going to Ciano for Italian food. Joining us for food is completely optional.

If you would like to come for the meal, please let us know in advance so that we can reserve a table for the correct number of people. Further information about confirming your place for the meal will be shared with attendees.

Important information

This is an 18+ women-only event.

Please only reserve a ticket if you are confident that you can attend. If your plans change, please cancel or return your ticket so another woman can take your place.

By booking, you acknowledge that outdoor walking involves natural risks, including uneven or slippery ground. Attendees are responsible for assessing their own fitness and taking reasonable care throughout the walk.

Photos and videos may be taken during the event and shared on Space for Girls’ social media pages. If you would prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please tell the walk lead on the day or contact us beforehand.
