The Oval Bandstand

Welcome to The Oval Bandstand & Lawns, Cliftonville, Margate – one of the Kent coast’s most distinctive outdoor event spaces.

Set across more than four acres of green space overlooking the sea, The Oval is home to a packed seasonal programme of live music, festivals, open-air theatre, outdoor cinema, family entertainment, wellbeing activities and community events.

Our programme brings together established performers, emerging talent and some of our own signature events, including Margate Country Music Festival and The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever.

We believe great events should feel welcoming, accessible and affordable. Whether you’re joining us for an afternoon of live music, dancing under the summer sky, watching a film outdoors or discovering one of our special events, The Oval is all about good times, great entertainment and bringing people together by the sea.

The Oval Bandstand & Lawns is owned and managed by GRASS Cliftonville CIC, a not-for-profit community organisation. Income generated through our events helps us care for and improve this much-loved green space for the community.
