Next Weekend Sunbird Records hosts two legends of Music! Friday 5th December we welcome Ffyfe Dangerfield - Best known as the lead singer of 2006 Mercury Prize nominees, cinematic pop outfit Guillemots, has spent much of the last decade gradually piecing together a vast & varied creative universe, the first fruits of which were shared in the beguiling Birdwatcher - a surreal & dreamlike twelve-episode audio series, available to stream at the online home of Fyfe’s production house Saturday 6th December From Big Country - Mark Brzezicki joined Big Country in 1981 and continues the sound and spirit of the band along with Simon Hough, Big Country’s vocalist for over a decade, Gil Allen, Big Country and The Skids bassist and Ken Nicol on Guitar. Steeped in a stunning catalogue of songs such as ‘Fields of Fire’, ‘Chance’, 'East of Eden’, 'Look Away’ and signature song ‘In A Big Country’ will blow you away. Did you know it's two years this week since Sunbird Records reopened it's doors? To Celebrate we have a week of events featuring some of the very best local, regional and national talent!! Thursday 3rd April we welcome blues guitar legend Laurence Jones to Sunbird records, in association with Music Venue Trust and AGMP Music Radar voted the young Laurence Jones one of the world's top 10 blues-rock guitarists. He's shared stages with legends like Sir Van Morrison, Sir Ringo Starr, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Status Quo and many more. Friday 4th April it's an EP launch show for Darwen's very own I Create Deathrays Saturday 5th April - Stil Life. Back in the bird with a warm up show - support comes from Denim Breakfast and Coherent plus an after party from B-Hind Sunday 6th April - Apollo Junction - New single 'Settle Down' is out this Friday featuring the wonderful voice of The Beautiful South Briana Corrigan now 💙 Support comes from The Cavs and Dilemmas.
