Suburbs May Newsletter
With 2 bank holidays, May is always a great month for music and sunshine as well. Alongside the gigs below there's also Jackfest on 23rd May, from 7pm, a popular fund raising event featuring some top indie bands such as The Common, Belizaire and The Station. Details are on Facebook, just search for Jackfest But before we steam head first into May, we've got one big gig to remind you of. On the 25th April, Hillsy will be celebrating his 60th birthday and he's having one last blow out before he settles down in front of the fire with his pipe and slippers. Tickets are available on Fatsoma. As usual, keep watching our social media as we are adding to the events as the month progresses.

The Suburbs April Newsletter
Before we launch into a gig filled April, we have one major gig to go in March. This Saturday we host the Guildford March of the Mods, the annual charity gig to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Curated by Tony Smith from The Sounds Of The Suburbs record shop in Ruislip Manor. We've got a stunning line up, with the first band on stage at 3pm, so remember to get there early. The acts playing alongside the guest DJs are: Darren Tuck The Past Tense Fleeting Mind The Hornets The Vendettas Friends Of Luca Brasi The Hurricanes The Sha La La's All proceeds will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust, plus there will be a raffle and a record shop with various merchandise on sale as well. During April we've once again got something for everyone, with the details listed below. We'll, hopefully, see you in the coming month and as usual the staff look forward to greeting you once again.

Suburbs March Newsletter
As we look towards the events of March, there's just time to remind you that we've got two massive gigs to go in February. This Friday we welcome back New Street Adventure, always a favourite here at The Suburbs, supported by The Sha La La's, local legends who always play a cracking set. If you've never seen these two I'd highly recommend them. On Saturday, we have the Dutty Moonshine Quartet, part of the legendary Dutty Moonshine Big Band. Tickets for this one are selling fast. During March, as usual, we're bringing something for everyone, we've got Ska, Soul and MFC Chicken. You just can't miss Skabba, a terrific band who play the songs of Abba in ska, along with many other ska classics. Once again, we're hosting the Guildford March of the Mods in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. There's some great bands appearing alongside some visiting DJs. There'll be raffles and prizes with all of the proceeds going to this most worthwhile cause We look forward to seeing you in March

Suburbs February Newsletter
Before we head into February, there's just time to tell you about our last event of January. On Saturday the 31st there's an 80's daytime clubbing event which is not listed as it's free entry, so come along and relive those heady days of that decade from 3-8pm. Another event that's not listed, because it's also free entry, is my birthday party on the 14th February. What better way is there to spend Valentine's Night than watching Local Pop Hero, Red Anger and The Fanzines. Who said romance was dead. Hillsy will be manning the decks in between the bands as well as after the live music finishes. We've got some new bands to the Suburbs this month, along with the other newcomers, the Dutty Moonshine Quartet will be playing and that gig is selling fast, as you would expect. In a different vein we've got the welcome return of New Street Adventure, with local favourites The Sha La La's supporting. One last thing, don't forget the Guildford Ska and Soul weekend coming up in the summer.

Suburbs January Newsletter
As per every year, January is extremely quiet as everyone recharges their batteries and licks their wounds after battling around the Boxing Day sales. But keep watching the Facebook page for surprise gigs. There is one event for your diary, though, it's my birthday party on 14th February and you're all invited, it would be great to see you. We've got 3 bands playing, Local Pop Hero, Red Anger and The Fanzines, all local favourites. This one is free entry and we've got Hillsy on the decks. The other one for your diary is the Guildford Ska and Soul Weekend on the 7th & 8th August at Merrist Wood College, that's going to be a big one. Details can be found here: https://business.fatsoma.com/business/pages/guildfordskasoul/events/wdgulx98 All that remains for me to say is Happy New Year and have a great time skanking, moshing, pogoing, gazing at your shoes, or whatever you do at gigs, throughout 2026.
