Live & Direct

Live & Direct is a long running club night, started in 2003 by two fellas called BiggaBez and Millsy. From house parties around South Manchester with BiggaBez's sound system, the ashes of club night 'No Skool' and long forgotten DJ collective 'The Panza Crew' came 'Live & Direct'. Incorporating live musicians and MC's, such as Cookie, Chi MD, Shona Rilla and Texas Steve, plus more DJ's, like Muckish, Jacky, Phanto 5000 to name three, they brought a mega top class, hip-hop, funk, soul jam down to places like The Font, Sub Club, The Old Abbey and anywhere else that'd pay a case of beer. After brief hiatus at the start of the 2010's (?), Live & Direct found a new home at The Eagle Inn, Salford, the coolest hidden boozer and music venue in the North-West. You'll find BiggaBez along with newest recruit Pablo Wunderbar - whenever he can slip past customs - on most Friday nights and special occasions, along with the most talented, diverse roster of multi-genre DJ's including Riven, Sybil, Antz, Mrs Beechwood, DJ Deckchair, Charlotte, Rocky Suave, All Bases Covered, Hannah Q, Lowcal-Lad, Mumu, Muckish, Outpost, Bad Penny, Tom Matley and others. You'll find us playing hip-hop, funk, soul, house, garage, DnB, dubstep. We've hosted legendary events such as Hip Hop's 50th Anniversary with Redvenom, Freestyle Friday sessions, International Women's Day, regular DJ support acts for the incredible live band Tigerside, and every New Years Eve that I can't remember, with loads more to come.
