Dutty Moonshine Big Band

We're not supposed to pick favourites but Brighton is the one tour date I am the most excited about. After driving past the Brighton Dome for 15 years on the way to shows, dreaming that one day I'll get to play there, I was over the moon that the time had come. And I am now more than thrilled that it looks to be the first tour date that will sell out!!

We have just one more festival to play, Mucky Weekender, and then it's all go for tour mode! 38 days until our first tour date at the time of writing this message! We can't wait to show you; - New music. - New stage design. - New outfits. - New choreography. - All of the classics you love Abi Nyxx is working her little cotton socks off with a surprise we've got cooking as well, she skips and squeals every time she walks into the Dutty HQ to work on it. Very exciting on all fronts!

In-between festivals shows and day jobs we have been jumping into studios and writing spaces.... I'm quickly writing this post before I run off to another studio today to jam with our new cello player!! We're finally getting the Blood Ep from our Blood, Sweat and Tears project wrapped up. We've played around with sounds and styles we have always wanted to and we've definitely created the Dutty sound but in a new field. 'Second Distillation' tour will also see us road test improved versions of our own songs. Some of those songs we wrote 11 years ago and our hook writing, production and more has come leaps and bounds so it's really exciting to overhaul some of our old material. It's fresh and new whilst also remaining familiar. We will release a 'Second Distillation' album after the tour but rather than release before we want to road test it all. We always drop an album before a tour, then do a big run of shows and go "balls, we should have done that instead of this". Big ups!

Festival season right now for us is just one giant rehearsal for this tour. Some of our shows might look normal but we are stress testing things behind the scenes making sure we are kick arse and ready for tour. Crowd reception has been mighty at these festival shows, they're just getting wilder as the Summer goes on. I am beyond excited about this tour but if any of you have a time stop machine that would be helpful because lord of have mercy the tour is getting closer and closer and we have so much still to sort out.
