Bridgend County Show

The Bridgend Show was formed in 1946 with the prime objective of raising money for a “welcome Home Fund’ for returning serviceman and to give them a desire to return to the land by way of employment.

Such was its success, that it has been produced every year since and in 2016 will be celebrating its 70th anniversary.

The Bridgend Show was initially a very local event but its success and draw has spread steadily over the years and is now one of the major show events put on in Wales supported by both business and members of the public alike.

In 2009 changes were introduced to the growing popularity of the show.free_admission_icon These included opening for an extra day and changing the name to The Bridgend County Show to reflect the growing interest from father afield.

The event continues to gather popularity and this year sees a new addition, The Kitchen, Garden & Allotment Show to reflect the growing interest in home produced, vegetables and other home produces.
