Amalie’s Lamb is a micro-budget short film in the genre of psychological drama. The story is told through the perspective of 20-year-old Amalie, allowing for exploration of the female experience within her community, a microcosm of the norms and expectations placed on women in wider society. It also explores themes of religion and purity culture which have historically been used to shame women into submission. Her family dynamic propagates these expectations to the point of becoming dysfunctional in their efforts to maintain them.
