Less Effect - Addison Groove / ANZ + Residents

We return for our second outing in our new favourite venue, meraki, with none other than headliner Addison Groove.

A stalwart of the early Bristol dubstep scene under his alias Headhunter, he’s been releasing music since 2006 on labels such as Ascension, Wheel & Deal, Black Box and the massively influential Tempa imprint where he racked up six releases from 2007 to 2009. It was in 2010 that he really came to prominence in the wider scene with his brilliant and extremely popular ‘Footcrab’ release on Swamp81, bringing strong Chicago juke and footwork influences into his music at a time of fruitful experimentation in the UK bass scene.

Since then he has really come into his own, releasing music in a wide variety of styles, taking in influences from electro, acid, jungle, techno, UK funky, but all while keeping that focus on bass which is of course what we’re all about at Less Effect! Under his Addison Groove project he has collaborated with producers such as DJ Die and previous Less Effect guest Sam Binga, been remixed by DJ Rashad and Doc Daneeka and become a regular fixture on Modeselektor’s 50Weapons label – we could go on!

A DJ as much as a producer, and equally as versatile, he has had several appearances on Boiler Room and countless radio appearances on stations such as Rinse FM and BBC Radio 1. He played for us back in April 2014 and absolutely smashed it, so we can’t wait to welcome him back to Liverpool.

Also on the night we’ll have support from Anz.!

A local head and rising talent who recently had a guest mix featured on the Keysound Rinse FM show showcasing a tonne of her own new dubs. Heavily influenced by a lot of styles from grime and dubstep to dancehall and UK funky, expect some serious party vibes!

As always we bring you the heaviest of soundsystems to showcase these frequencies on, so as was the case at our last dance with Asusu, the mighty Sinai Sound System will again be supplying that bassweight.

Additional support from residents Jake D, Horus, Lack + Pidge.
