Circuit ft. CHAT + BLED + The New Romantic Era

Independent proudly presents Circuit, Sunderland's freshest gig night introducing the best new bands with talents from across the UK and the world alongside some of the most exciting acts from the North East region.

CHAT are Sunderland based synthpop duo Jordan Miller and Beccy Young. Joining forces after discovering a mutual appreciation of pop music, Jordan & Beccy have been quietly crafting infectious bangers since 2018, ready to unleash them and get people dancing this year.

The duo are inspired by current pop queens (Lady Gaga, Kylie, Roisin Murphy) and the many electro duos of the 80s (Eurhythmics, Pet Shop Boys, Yazoo) using synthesisers and drum machines to create a sound reminiscent of Stock, Aitken and Waterman and Trevor Horn produced hits.

Having performed as alt folk singer-songwriter This Little Bird for many years, Beccy has relished the chance to lighten the lyrical load, writing songs about dancing and good times and finally unleash her inner pop diva.

Multi-instrumentalist and producer Jordan has performed in many bands from the North-East music scene (Vandebilt, Hyde & Beast, The Lake Poets) and also ran Motorhouse Studios in Sunderland city centre. Growing up hearing tales of clubbing in 80s Sunderland from his dad has most definitely influenced the Chat sound.

BLED is the artistic partnership of anti-art artist Amy Crozier (RED) and songwriter and producer Leo Himmelblau (BLUE). Their work is often conceptual and their varied output is inter-inspired. Art and music come together in the live arena, where they can be found giving highly energetic and theatrical performances.

Based in Bristol, England, the pair have recently supported Walt Disco and Cumgirl8, as well as featuring on BBC Introducing in the South West.

“A flurry of bubblegum goth-pop, strewn with darkwave undercurrents. Their synth-fuelled energy is akin to the New Romantic artists that they’re vividly reinvigorating, as well as recent glam heroes Walt Disco.” - NARC
