One of the ‘Top Six Comics to Watch’ by LA’s Stand Up Talk Magazine

Appearances on LA based panel show Direct TV’s ‘What’s News?’

A regular guest on hit podcast -Talkin’ Sh*t with Eddie Ifft.

One of the most exciting comics to come out of America, Russell Hicks is branded one of the 'Top Six Comics to Watch' by LA's Stand Up Talk Magazine. He has appeared on LA based panel show Direct TV's 'What's News?' and is a regular guest on hit podcasts such as Talkin' Sh*t with Eddie Ifft.

Headlining the nationally acclaimed student circuit in the United States, Russell regularly takes his hour long solo shows across the country to the biggest universities. Prolific and consistently delivering quality new work, audience members are often compelled to return for two nights in a row. Fast and loose, no two shows are ever the same.

He really is a force to be reckoned with, he holds a unique ability to perform with no prewritten material or jokes, a true master of comedy and an electric performance is always assured whenever he performs.

What the press have to say:

"Hicks has a sharp wit.. the pessimism of Jack Dee mixed with the deadpan aggression of Denis Leary. A rip roaring night of tough love from a witty comedian ****", Broadwaybaby.com - Aug-2014

“Russell was great last night in Cranbrook – doing a middle spot between Gary Delaney and Bob Mills was a tall order but he carried it off with aplomb. Given his performance I would be happy to have him at any of my clubs anytime” Lonestar Comedy

"Russell Hicks was a surprising highlight for me – American standup who wove wide-ranging improvisation and interaction with the crowd with deprecating jokes about American stereotypes and a wry swipe back at British culture... very funny.", Ashbourne Voice - Jul-2014

"Russell Hicks is Amazing", Comedy Palace

“a gift – very funny” Stand Up Talk

“Russell Hicks is Amazing” ADN

“He had us in stitches.. nonstop laughs” NoFrillsThrills

“One of the Top Six Comics to Watch” Stand Up Talk Magazine

Early comedy success included being a semi-finalist in ITV’s stand-up talent show Take the Mike, being a runner-up in the BBC New Comedy Awards and the FHM Holsten Pils Comedy Final.

What the Press have to say:

"Imaginative musical jokes and beautifully crafted original comedy songs...The material he offers is fresh, contemporary and pin-sharp original. " Guardian

and Marcus Brigstocke had a child..." Chortle

"Quite brilliant" The Scotsman

"Genuine hysterics...tears of laughter" Spoonfed

HEADLINER 2 – STEPHEN CARLIN

As seen on Comedy Central’s “The Alternative Comedy Experience”

One of Stewart Lee’s “Ten Best Stand Up Comedians Ever”

“A great comic mind at work” Chortle

“One of the most distinctive, and funniest, new comedians

in Britain”

As seen on Comedy Central’s “The Alternative Comedy Experience” Stephen Carlin has gained critical acclaim and a growing fan base with his original, insightful material and his accomplished delivery. He is increasingly expanding his following on the international comedy scene performing this year across Asia, Europe and North America.

Chosen as one of Stewart Lee’s “Ten Best Stand Up Comedians Ever” Carlin has supported Stewart Lee, Stephen Merchant & Tom Stade on their national tours.

As always, Carlin’s art lies in his ability to quarry wildly original material from the most conventional of starting points. By taking run-of-the-mill observations and then applying his relentless but warped logic. This married to his exceptional use of language and his brilliantly opinionated broadsides make for memorable routines. All skilfully delivered in his deadpan Scottish brogue.

Stephen is an experienced writer and has written for many BBC Radio Shows including the Now Show and the Newsquiz. He is the author of a Comedy Blog, which hilariously exposes the many facets of a life lived in comedy.

What the Press have to say:

“This is laconic laced with Red Bull, material so thoughtful you would put your house on (him) reinventing the knock knock joke... announcing the arrival of a new comedy original.” – The Herald

One of the most inventive stand-ups on the Fringe..... knowingly cynical and hilarious ... delightfully deadpan Scot " Chortle

“If this man isn’t a household name in five years time, the world is even more lacking in justice than we could have feared.” Scotsman

“A cult favourite among fans of the sharper end of stand-up” Guardian

“One of the most distinctive, and funniest, new comedians in Britain” Chortle

"this capacity crowd [was] falling at Carlin's feet." Gigglebeats

“A great comic mind at work” London is Funny

“A fierce Invention at Play” Chortle
