Equals are an East-London based electronic soul duo; James Low and Ade Omotayo. They combine James' songwriting and soundscapes with Ade's emotive and powerful vocals. Earning his early break as a backing singer for Amy Winehouse, Ade toured with her for her whole career. He has been a featured vocalist on projects for a galaxy of starts ranging from Kindness and Matthew Herbert to Mark Ronson and Quincy Jones. James took the more conventional route playing guitar in bands touring the UK before catching the electronic music bug from members of Submotion Orchestra, who remain friends and musical collaborators.
Across three releases to date, Equals have continued to garner the support of a growing online following with support from Fader, XLR8R, Line Of Best Fit, NPR, Complex, Indie Shuffle, Hilly Dilly, CLASH Magazine, whilst pricking up industry ears from Capital Xtra to BBC Radio 6's Lauren Laverne. Live, they have performed from the beaches of Croatia at Dimensions festival to some of London's best venues, from Dalston basement clubs to Koko and the Albert Hall. They are currently working a debut LP to be released in 2017
Tonight, we celebrate and dance in the light of the release of their first single release from their highly anticipated LP! 'Daylight Dreaming'
