MC STEPHEN BAILEY

 “Comedy Genius” – Fringe Guru

Stephen is a comedian, television personality and writer, whose friendly and open brand of gossipy humour has made him one of the most sought after acts in UK comedy today. He is 'annoyingly sharp' and audiences relate to his sassy style as he takes to the stage with 'fantastic natural wit and charisma'. A regular face on ITV's Weekend with Aled & Channel 5’s Big Brother’s Bit on the Side.

He is currently back on the road supporting Katherine Ryan on her Glitter Room tour and in 2018 will see Stephen travel the country with his own headline tour as he heads out with his five-star, critically-acclaimed show Stephen Bailey: Can’t Think Straight, which sees him through 35 cities.

He also guest hosted Sunday Takeover on Virgin Radio, featured on The Art's Show with Jonathan Ross on BBC Radio 2 and was named one of Attitude Magazine's Top 100 Bachelors of the Year.

A vocal supporter of LGBT rights, he regularly contributes articles to Attitude magazine and the Huffington Post, which made him the perfect choice to host Stonewall's 25th Anniversary Party and his recent interview for AOL Build about the LGBT movement went viral.

As well as being a working-class, ginger, gay, northern comic, he is also a black belt in Tae Kwon-Do, has a degree in Languages AND loves a conspiracy theory (preferably involving a celebrity  and a cucumber).

What the press have to say:

"He's an arch-bitch with a winning smile, everyone's favourite gay best friend. Bailey's confident, funny & suitably rude" - The Reviews Hub

"Bailey dominates the stage" - Chortle

"[His material] is warm and affectionate yet no less biting in its wit" - The Gay UK

"When it comes to being funny, he's just got it" - Scotsgay

"Stephen's show was hilarious from the first line, and for the whole performance I don't think a single joke died" - Voice

What the press have to say:

"Chelsea is a stand up enigma. Combining high brow and comedy in a way not often seen on the circuit. One of the most unique acts around!" - Christopher Norton Walker

"Chelsea Hart was easily one of the best of the night. An Alaskan, Chelsea had a wonderful energy and enthusiasm...... Personally, I would pay to see her do a full set and hope she goes far in comedy." -Codie Louise Austin, Beat the Frog

"Chelsea is a buoyant force of nature who skips between genres with ease. She commands the room in an open and engaging way with clear experience from years of street performing. She creates a familiarity with the audience to bring them into her world in a natural and fresh way." -Phil Kay

"Chelsea Hart was easily one of the best of the night. An Alaskan, Chelsea had a wonderful energy and enthusiasm... I hope she goes far in comedy." - North West End

2nd Middle act -  SPRING DAY

"A Definite Must See! ✭✭✭✭" – ThreeWeeks

Spring Day is a New York stand-up comedian, writer and actor previously based in Tokyo, Japan and currently working in the UK.  Voted Brooklyn’s Best Comedian 2016, Her uniquely sharp, dark, bubbly and often brutal style of comedy is always a crowd pleaser you don't want to miss.

She has written, produced, directed and performed five solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since 2010. A seasoned regular at clubs across the world, She was featured in the 2008 documentary The Tokyo Comedy Store, the upcoming Joker Face book, and in the 2014 best selling book The Humor Code.

"Spring's gimlet-eyed perspective on life belies her Summer of Love name, but Tokyo's most prolific comic can't hide her underlying joy of life, even while recounting darker tales of love and loss in Tokyo." - Chris Wells, Owner, Tokyo Comedy Store

"Spring Day is such a likable and friendly character with an incredibly infectious smile that draws the audience into her performance and wickedly delivered punch lines which have them falling over themselves with laughter, thinking ‘I can’t believe she just said that!’ They absolutely loved her and there is no doubt that you will too." - ★★★★ Broadway Baby 16 Aug 2012

"The 30 minutes fly by, much to the audience’s dismay, as Day leaves them wanting more. A definite must-see, if only just to hear her say the word “clitoris” in Japanese." - ★★★★ ThreeWeeks 20 Aug 2011

"Though her material is strong, the most notable thing about Spring's show is her delivery and stage presence. Spring's delivery is warm and natural, most of her set conversational and free flowing" - Funny Women 2012

"One of the questions you immediately ask is: what kind of comedian is produced by the Japanese comedy scene? And the answer is: a very good one with some excellent observations and sharply-honed punchlines. Day's best material is when discussing her cerebal palsy. She's got just the right amount of irreverance and quite expertly makes the audience feel comfortable about laughing at it. The jokes about Japanese politeness cover familiar ground but Day puts a new spin on them with some hilarious true stories about her attempts to teach English over there." - ★★★ The Skinny 5 Aug 2012

"Guest comedian Spring Day, an American based in Japan, did a short solo spot, and scored heavily on laughs, before she joined Ian for another round of the quiz. Sassy, smart and snappy, Spring is a funny lady and provided a good contrast to Ian’s more laid back delivery." - Gigglebeats Aug 25 2014

"Day covers cultural differences between the Western world that raised her, and Japan, where she now lives. These outsider observations of Eastern practices turns out very insightful, especially on the topics of healthcare, marriage, and why you shouldn't eat at high street sushi chain restaurants." - ★★★ FringeGuru 23 Aug 2015

"She's f$%*ing funny. You'd be hard pressed to find someone more delightful and life affirming than Spring Day. Oh and she's not drunk, that's her real walk." -Brendon Burns 2016

"She’d be funny even if she never spoke about her disability. Very entertaining, her material and delivery were spot on." - nottscomedyreview 12 Nov 2017

HEADLINER PHIL JERROD

‘Casual Brilliance’ - The Guardian

Phil Jerrod won the Best New Act award at last year’s Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival.

Phil’s stand-up career started underneath an Angus Steakhouse in 2012. Since then he has failed his PhD, walked out of his job in publishing and been entertaining audiences up and down the country with his elegant rants on the often unfathomable problems of modern life.

He has been nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year Award 2014, and in 2013 was a semi-finalist in So You Think You’re Funny New Act of the Year Competition and a quarter finalist in the Amused Moose Laugh Off. John is electric and fast becoming one of the Hottest Headliners in the  country and we’re ecstatic to have him grace the mic at Grinstock
