thebestof Sudbury Networking and Nibbles Event - Speed Networking Event

This year, thebestof Sudbury celebrates 10 years old and to mark the occasion we have decided to go old school for this month's meeting, a throwback to our speed-networking events back when we launched the business.

Why speed-networking?

When Penny first started attending networking events, she found at some meetings, people would either stick with their colleagues (it's understandable, being thrown into a room with stranger can be nerve-wracking) which sort of defeats the object of growing your network. Or you wanted the opportunity to meet a specific person but didn't get the chance. 

Speed-networking events prevent these things from happening, in a friendly and fun way.

How does it works?

Arrival and Welcome: Guests arrive and settle in, grab a drink & our speednetworking lanyard
 Pizza and Informal Networking (No one should network on an empty stomach) Enjoy pizza, offering an opportunity for casual mingling and a relaxed atmosphere. 
Opening Remarks: We'll explain how the speed networking works & make sure you all have a lanyard with 7 rounds of numbers. .
Speed Networking : We'll have 6/7 rounds of speed networking. Each round will last 7 minutes. In that time you'll get to hand round business cards and spend a minute giving an overview of who you are and how your business helps. To let you know the round has finished, we will blow a whistle so you know to move quickly to your next table. The whistle will blow again and you'll start the round with a new group of people. This continues until you've been to all the numbered tables on your card.

The event should finish by 7pm and you should have met everyone in the room and have their contact details. 

You'll be sent an email with attendees' details afterwards, so make sure you contact those you want One to Ones with and build up those contacts

Our goal is to create an environment that is professionally rewarding and lots of good fun.

If networking makes you nervous, this is a good event to kickstart your networking journey, as there's no awkward standing quietly (what feels like hours)

The event will start promptly at 5pm and conclude by 7pm
