Bachata comes to Aviva Studios – learn, watch and celebrate the popular Latin dance

Originating in the Dominican Republic, Bachata is a wildly popular social dance which is now danced all over the world. Come and see what all the fuss is about!

Learn the moves with a workshop led by experienced instructors Martin Martinez and Teddy Ivanova. Then join in with social dancing set to a live soundtrack from DJ Yayo, who is well known for his Latin mixes.

Street Symphony is a regular series celebrating cultures steeped in tradition, community and artistic expression. Our 2024 series features a diverse range of themes – from Hip Hop to Carnaval, Salsa to Bhangra – highlighting dance and music genres that infuse the streets and public spaces of cities worldwide with vibrancy and creativity.
