Since finishing up the long-term residency at The Africa Centre two years ago, founder Akwasi Brenya-Mensa has been popping up globally in different guises, stretching and evolving the Tatale concept. Now back in London, Brenya-Mensa will be sharing the recent journeys of Tatale with a quarterly residency, inviting peers, collaborators, and those that inspire, to commune once again.
First up, Tatale settles in at Paradise Soho with a week-long service. Two services every night will see a combination of pure Tatale dishes, including the signature Omo Tuo (mashed rice) & Nkatekwan (groundnut soup). As well as a run of ‘Collab’ services that invite friends of Tatale: Rahel Stephanie, Rachel Ama, James Cochran and Ghana 365; to the table, demonstrating Tatale’s continual interweaving approach to food and storytelling.
The Tatale menu will be ingredient-led, allowing guests to focus on the various layers of an ingredient. The snack will focus on ackee; the starter is of course, the Groundnut. Followed by a choice of main, lamb or okra, finishing with a dessert choice of either rum or rhubarb. The Collaboration menu will feature influence and ingredients from both creatives. This will be a Plant Based sitting.
Rachel Ama is a two-time bestselling cookbook author, food entrepreneur, and digital powerhouse. From starting on YouTube to teaching in schools, Rachel has spent the last 6 years showing that plant-based food can be joyful, flavourful, and accessible to all.
As we did back in the day, we ask that you bring 2 items of dry or tinned food so that we can make a donation to a local food bank. Our dining concept began with an aim to help fight food poverty and we are very grateful for your help on this.Tatale team ❤️️
P.S - Our menu includes a plant-based option in every course.
