Rat Party

For our last party of the year Rat resident IYESHA presents her curation of a 'LINEUP OF LEGENDS' , with leeds legends KESSIE (@bitswkessie) & KAREINA (@kareina_) and another one of our siblings from the london based collective GUTTERRING; XNBTNI (@xnbtni).

Tiered ticket system

As a collective, we are run by, and are in support of individuals from the QTIPOC (Queer, Tran & Intersex People of Colour), sex worker and gender variant communities. Our varying pay scale is representative of this and helps us prioritise these communities as they are the focal point of our parties.

£15 is a suitable ticket price for an event that finishes late, and has ample DJs & performers. We discount this for such community members that would struggle to afford this price.

Leeds is significantly lacking in safe spaces for QTIPOC, sex workers and gender variant people to go to and feel welcomed and supported. We operate on a ‘pay what you can’ system, and acknowledge that there is an unfair economic imbalance that exists within our society, with our communities often suffering at the brunt end of it. Operating in this way ensures that we are widening accessibility to individuals within our communities that may not be able to afford standard tickets, as well as offering a safe space for them to party and enjoy themselves. Therefore, we offer 50% of the price of ally tickets to people within our communities.

Of course there is no way for us to police or monitor the tickets that people are buying, and our tiered system is based on trust. Whilst allies are more than welcome to attend our parties, we expect them to be respectful and mindful of this.
