A Floating Points show is something to get excited about in its own
right. Over the last half decade producer Sam Shepherd has been
instrumental in bringing rhythmic complexity and musical innovation
right into the heart of dance music. His sets – both live and DJing –
have become an essential event for a generation of music lovers.
Tonight, with an entire event curated by Shepherd, you know you’re in
for something very special. Shepherd is joined by hip hop luminary
Madlib, a producer who has fair claim to pretty much inventing the
entire new wave of intricate, sample heavy hip hop production, along
with fellow travellers Jeremy Underground, Daphni and Jon Hopkins, all
of whom delight in taking dance music to strange, magical places which
speak to the mind, body and soul.
