Moxy Muzik returns to Joshua Brooks on Friday 27th March with a headline combination that brings together two distinct corners of the UK underground. Darius Syrossian goes back to back with London's Smokey Bubblin' B for an extended four-hour set, with support from Miruna Ghica and Lily C-D.
This is what Moxy Muzik was built for.
Since launching his label and party concept, Darius Syrossian has held a monthly residency at Joshua Brooks - and every single edition has sold out. It's become one of the most consistent nights in Manchester, rooted in extended sets, intimate dancefloors and a musical policy that refuses to chase trends. A two-time Essential Mix DJ, Best of British Award winner and former RA top 100 artist, Darius has held residencies at Space Ibiza in its final year, Amnesia and Sankeys across multiple seasons.
In 2025 alone, Moxy Muzik put out compilation releases for Off Sonar, ADE and Miami Music Week, while Darius played Defected Croatia, Solid Grooves at DC10 and Hideout Festival. His approach hasn't changed - house, techno, garage and whatever else fits the groove, played with the authority of someone who's been doing this for over 25 years.
Joining him behind the decks is Smokey Bubblin' B, one of the most in-demand selectors to come out of London's house and garage scene in recent years. His DJ sets flow through house, UKG and bass with a technical fluency and energy that's earned him over 700,000 monthly Spotify listeners and 13 million streams in 2024. Releases on Diplo's Higher Ground with Audio Bullys, Dansu Discs and Armada have placed him firmly on the radar, while his remix work - including a rework that Peggy Gou dropped at Glastonbury - has crossed well beyond the garage circuit. His UKG mini mix for Danny Howard's BBC Radio 1 Dance Party captured everything that makes his sets work: pace, range, and an instinct for when to push and when to pull back. Four hours B2B with Darius in this room is a proper meeting of styles.
Miruna Ghica & Lily-CD open proceedings with a sound rooted in UK-influenced minimal and deep tech. Their selections balance groove with restraint, building sets that earn the room's attention through patience and precision rather than obvious peaks.
The Joshua Brooks basement and its Void Acoustics system were made for nights like this. Under the bricked arches, the low ceilings hold the sound tight, and the intimate dancefloor puts you close enough to feel every transition. Darius helped design this room - it's no accident that Moxy Muzik calls it home.
