Back in 2006 Cosmic Disco was conceived originally as a radio show on Manchester's Unity FM where three friends shared their passion for electronic dance music with literally tens of people, each and every Monday evening for over 3 years.
From playing the latest releases alongside obscure Italo, Afro and Cosmic records (With anything else that took their fancy) emerged http://www.cosmicdisco.co.uk where radio show podcasts were published alongside some of the finest mixes and interviews from a number of the most respected DJ's and musicians from across the globe.
Back when blogs rules the net, Cosmic Disco was one of the most respected and visited sites specialising in electronic music at that time.
Hitting on the zeitgeist for a renewed interest in 'Cosmic/Balearic' music, the team went on to promote a series of their own events introducing the likes of Beppe Loda, POLLYester and DJ Mooner for their UK debut performances in addition to bringing back to the fore some of the most respected underground DJ talents such as Mark Seven and Felix Dickenson.
Guests stints DJ'ing at nights up and down the country followed whilst holding down local residences across Manchester with festival organisers soon requesting the services of Cosmic Disco to host events for FutureSonic (w/Danielle Baldelli) as the Guardian for their 'Guardian Lounge' at Glastonbury Festival.
10 years since it's original conception, Cosmic Disco returns for a one-off party on Saturday 23rd July where they will celebrate the sounds of the blog as well as some of the best records of the last 10 years within the intimate basement space of the Whiskey Jar that just so happens to house one of the best sound systems in Manchester.
Keep posted to the Facebook page in the meantime as they re-up some of the best content from the archives including interviews and mixes for those who may have missed them 1st time around or for those who simply wish to re-live some of the best music from DJ culture over the last 40 years...
