Tatale is a restaurant and bar concept created by Akwasi, telling contemporary Pan-African stories through food, art and culture. Born in Ghana and later developed in London, Tatale’s namesake is a pancake made from Plantain — the ubiquitous ingredient found in African Diaspora cuisines right across the world. Akwasi considers it to be the culinary symbol of Blackness.

Akwasi’s own radio show Black To The Future aims to push the envelope of Black Atlantic sounds and showcases the innovation and burgeoning subgenres from Africa and the diaspora. The supper club will be set to the soundtrack curated by Akwasi, Helena and Hannah.

Inspired by a shared ethos to highlight Black and diaspora identity, Akwasi, Helena and Hannah will present a menu that takes cues from each of their heritage, exploring the techniques and ingredients that form part of a broader, border-less expression of Blackness.

The three-course menu and location will be kept secret and will be revealed 72 hours and 24 hours prior respectively.

As with each of our supper clubs, we ask that you bring 2 items of dry or tinned food so that we can make a donation to a local food bank. Mensa, Plates and Friends set up with the aim of fighting food poverty and we are very grateful for your help on this.

When purchasing a ticket please make sure to create or insert a table codename, so we can seat you with your friends accordingly. The maximum table size of 6 people.

Your experience begins when you and other guests arrive onsite, where you will be met by your hosts and the secret adventure begins.

Thank you for reading and for your support 😄
