Independent's 20th Birthday Party

Join us as we celebrate 20 years of Independent with a special anniversary party on Saturday 15th August.

Since opening in 2006, Independent has hosted over 2,000 live shows, supported thousands of artists and become one of Sunderland's longest-running grassroots music venues. Now it's time to celebrate with a night that brings together everything we love about the venue.

The evening begins with a live gig featuring Hit Squad, who close the show with a special set of the biggest hits from 2006, alongside Galaxians, noyou, Phantom Bagman and more acts to be announced.

After the live music, the venue transforms into Independent's famous Saturday club night, with indie and pop singalongs downstairs and house and techno upstairs until late. Gig tickets include free entry to the club night.

Expect free birthday cake, party hats, party poppers, birthday decorations and plenty of surprises as we celebrate two decades of unforgettable nights.

Tickets for this event are pay what you feel, there are limited number of free tickets available, please only take one of these if you can not afford to purchase a ticket. All money generated from ticket sales will be used to pay artist costs for this event.
