TERRITORY - UNFINISHED BUSINESS

This Halloween sees the return of a legend!  TERRITORY has found a new home.

If ya don’t know, get to know!

TERRITORY is an underground Drum & Bass event promoted by local icons Poison & Connect originally running from 2013 to 2021.  From its inception, the priority was simple: provide a platform for local DJs & MCs to represent the full spectrum of D&B.  Familiar names passed through along the way - India Jordan, Finn, Qwirky Ken and Drew Millard to name some.

By the mid-10s, the night had moved from The Terrace (formerly ROOM) to Function.  The promotion team grew and TERRITORY started to bring in guest artists such as The Jungle Drummer, Jumpin’ Jack Frost and the late Top Buzz as part of the ‘Old Skool Legends’ series.

After another move, this time to The Tunnel (now Basement), TERRITORY became a six-strong team of Poison, Connect, ULAR, Danny Styles, Bo Foe Quo and Jam, joined by resident MCs Clarkie, Sambo & Shruggz.  Guests included Madcap, SCAR, Soul Intent, Conrad Subs, Kumarachi & Motiv.

Then, in 2021 TERRITORY folded in mysterious circumstances...

Until now!

SULCUT is a multi-genre event established in 2024 by Aiden Eade, Chapo & Mazoel who all came through the DJ METHODZ workshops.  What started as a small project, born from wanting to bring more variety to Hull’s scene, has grown into something with real momentum.  Now led by Chapo & Mazoel, SULCUT has moved from Union Mash Up to the Polar Bear Music Club and is making its mark on the underground.

BROWSE STUDIOS is a new independent cultural space in the heart of Hull, built from 12 years of Browse Magazine championing the city’s music, arts and underground culture.  Taking over a former furniture shop and transforming it into a home for live music, club culture and creative ideas, Browse is about giving independent scenes the space to grow, experiment and make some noise!

For those that know, it makes sense!

TERRITORY has found new ground.  A new home.  The next chapter.
