CYNT HALLOWEEN SPECIAL PRESENTS....MORRT

So far since we've returned to Cardiff with our weekly night we have brought you the best in bass, disco and techno music with guests including Artwork, Ratcatcher and Apexape. This Halloween we are very proud to present MORRT.

MORRT aka Josh Mortimer, a 20 year old from Derby, had only been producing for a few months before his soulful ambient track ‘Let You Go’ was discovered by B Traits (BBC Radio 1). Now one year on, MORRT has fused 90s House with nostalgic samples and remixed tracks by MNEK, Route 94 and CeCe Penistone. His best known remix to date is ‘Applebottom-Someone’ which nearly 200,000 plays.

Inspired to make music after he was assaulted and left with a broken jaw, Josh Mortimer bought his first piece of equipment last year from compensation money. Taking influences from the likes of Hot Since 82, Friend Within, Wilfred Giroux, Chris Greswell and Karma Kid, MORRT has developed his own style for the dance floor which has seen him get booked from Croatia (Soundwave Festival) to Coventry (City Sound Project).

At CYNT we pride ourselves on having the best quality resident DJs in South Wales. From disco to bass to techno they specialize in the best house and dance music from the last thirty years. This week six of our residents will be playing throughout two rooms of Cardiff's newest underground venue.

Turning eight years old this February, CYNT has been Cardiff's staple electronic dance night attracting the biggest names in Deep, Tech and Bass. This year CYNT moves to take up its new Friday night residency at Cardiff's new basement nightclub, Ladybird. Completely underground with original brickwork features and state of the art sound system provides the perfect intimate setting for the most credible DJs around.
