Headliner 2: EL - B [Ghost // GD4YA]
A true pioneer of the UK underground, EL-B has spent 30 years shaping the sound of UK Garage and laying the foundation for dubstep. As one half of Groove Chronicles, and later with El-Tuff, EL-B crafted a signature sound dark, swung, and unmistakably his own.
In the early 2000s, EL-B founded Ghost Recordings, a label and collective that redefined the post-garage sound of London. Operating out of a shed in Streatham, the Ghost Camp fused drum & bass’s rhythmic intensity with UK Garage’s soulful shuffle, giving birth to the sound that would later be known as dubstep. EL-B’s influence spread globally, inspiring artists like Skream, Kode9, and Burial, who called his drums "the last secret left in music."
Fast forward to today >> With GD4YA (Good For Ya), EL-B continues to innovate and preserve the roots of UK bass. The label serves as both a sonic archive and a forward-thinking platform, releasing rare dubplates, and fresh tracks. GD4YA honors the dubplate culture, exclusive, raw, and brimming with energy while pushing the sound of bass-driven music into the future.
