Join us at the Royal British Legion Bitterne on Friday, 4th of December, for a fantastic night of grassroots music. We have two local bands and two local acoustic artists for your listening pleasure. Red Light Spies
Formed in a dimly lit garage tucked away in Southampton, we quickly bonded over a shared love for dynamic riffs, introspective lyrics, and heart-pounding beats. Our sound is a blend of raw, gritty energy fused with hypnotic indie grooves. Drawing inspiration from the Arctic Monkeys' sharp energy, the intensity of Queens of the Stone Age, and the psychedelic rhythms of The Stone Roses, we strive to create a sound that's both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. With every track, we aim to carve out something uniquely ours—while still tapping into the timeless elements of rock that we’ve always loved.

Waldo Salt
Waldo Salt are a four-piece from Southampton making sharp, melodic, post-punk infused jangle pop. The band have a deep love of short, concise songs and memorable hooks over excess. Drawing influence from bands such as R.E.M., Big Star, Rancid, Shack and Teenage Fanclub, the band combines wiry guitars, driving rhythms and bittersweet melodies into songs that never outstay their welcome.

Charlie Smith
My name might be common, but my style is alternative. I’m Charlie Smith, a singer-songwriter from Romsey, Hampshire. I perform solo and have experience playing and hosting my own independent shows at venues such as The Railway Inn, Flack Manor Brewery, and The Platform Tavern. I am super passionate about grassroots music and regularly participate in action to grow my local scene. Fiercely independent, I record and produce all my music with a true DIY ethos. In April, I hosted six gigs in England as part of my music venue trust fundraiser tour. I managed to fundraise £575, including events in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool & Leicester.

D'Kenzion
Ged, a singer-songwriter for over forty years and a published author with a series of books ‘Neander and the Dark Matter’. Over the years he has written music for his own and other bands, plus for two-stage shows performed in the Hoxton theatre, London.
With a blues/rock influence, D’ KenZion is a tilt of the soft cloth cap to the works of Charles Dickens. The songs whilst light and groovy, are a comment on the injustice in the world today and a tribute to the works of Mr D.
