WATCH THE DROP! is back and bringing you more amazing South Asian DJ’s playing the best bass driven beats!.

We’re excited to invite PANJABI MC to headline at our new home at Sheaf St. Leeds. playing to a crowd of open-minded bass reactive music lovers. Also making her debut with WTD! is DJ PRIYA fresh from her amazing set at this years Dialled In Festival doing what she does best giving you high energy ethnic infused sounds. We would also like to introduce Leeds upcomer, JAMEELA who’s no stranger to the local rave scene and of course not forgetting our very own resident turntablist, MANKEEPITDEEP.

PANJABI MC

International music producer and DJ hailing from Coventry. He is known worldwide as a pioneer in the global popularization of traditional Punjabi music, merged with hip hop, R&B, garage and dance. Panjabi MC has picked up numerous awards winning Best Dance Act at MTV Europe, Best UK Act of the Year at the Mobo’s , Best Dance Track in Germany, Italy and Switzerland as well as winning the World best-selling Indian recording artist of the year trophy at The World Music Awards.

His most famous record ‘Mundian To Bach Ke’ charted Top Ten in most countries around the world reaching the number one spot in Italy and Belgium as well as selling 100,000 units in Germany for the first two days alone debuting at #2. The success of Mundian To Bach Ke (also titled Beware of the Boys) was taken to another level when the multi-platinum artist JAY-Z collaborated on the record.

DJ PRIYA

DJ Priya throws herself into every project she undertakes with fun, dynamism and versatility at the forefront of her mind. Acclaimed for her varied mixes that keep the energy high and the bass heavy, the Brighton-based DJ knows how to get people moving.

Influenced heavily by the classical and contemporary South Asian sounds that she was raised on, and always centres key parts of her identity and self in her mixes. Her style is unclassifiable, the only standout feature is that it “must” be high-energy. Priya is a lover of all types of music - from classical Indian to reggaeton to UK funky and breaks - and all of these influences combine in the mixes she creates.

JAMEELA

Local resident Jameela is no stranger to playing bass heavy sounds around the city to hundreds of ravers each week! A regular at Wire, Headrow House and other notable venues across the City, Jameela is also a part of all-female local DJ community Slut Drop who are known for making plenty of noise around Leeds.

MANKEEPITDEEP

Leeds very own rising star, DJ, Producer, and Mango Lassi Drinker, Mankeepitdeep is a purist in all that’s bass, mixing and blending sounds from his Indian origins with trippy DnB, Dubstep and Garage. After contributing on Daytimers original compilation and featuring his heavy bass production ‘When life gives you lemons make nimbu paani’ on DJ Manara’s BBC Asian Network show his unique style is one to be heard.
