In support of their EP releases, pop punk newcomers WSTR & Best Years have teamed up to say “Hi There!” as they begin to make their mark on the UK live scene.
Best Years release EP ‘Drop Out’ Via Dream Atlantic Records 28/08/15. “The title is meant as an encouragement for people to drop out of boring routines and start afresh doing something they love, to chase their dreams. The members of this band have all ‘dropped out’ of reality in order to fully commit to this band,” states Joel Plews, vocalist with Manchester Pop Punks, Best Years, discussing the band’s latest E.P ‘Drop Out’. “The songs are definitely catchier and, dare I say it, a little cheesier than on our previous release” Plews laughs. Loaded with nostalgic melody and sparkling guitars, each of its three songs a self-contained summery mini-anthem.

WSTR released EP ‘Skrwd’ via No Sleep Records 04/09/15. “When we started the band we were all in a situation of waking up every morning, going to work, coming home and going to sleep,” recalls Sammy Clifford, vocalist with Liverpudlian newcomers WSTR, recalling the origins of his band’s blunt moniker; “It felt like we were just wasted space and not really doing much with our lives other than working.” A creative outlet born from lack of options, a cathartic escape from the norm. These tropes lie at the heart of many a band’s origin story, but few fresh faced acts come out of the blocks as accomplished as Waster, which has in turn seen them be picked up by California based No Sleep Records, for their debut release. Produced and recorded by Seb Barlow at Celestial Recordings (Neck Deep, Homebound, ROAM), Waster’s debut E.P ‘SKRWD’ is a full force introduction to the band’s keen ear for instantly familiar hooks and head bobbing grooves, showcasing more savvy and swagger than many bands with ten times their experience.
