Liverpool SOUP is a great project for the city. It is a regular micro-grant event, supporting new enterprise projects in the Liverpool City Region. If you’re an entrepreneur with an interest in social and community issues, come along and pitch your idea to the attendees and you could walk away with enough money to start you off in business.
For a small entrance fee to our monthly evening event, a ticket entitles you to soup and bread. You also get one vote, to be cast in favour of the best pitch you hear that night. The winner of the most votes goes home with the profits from the ticket receipts.
Liverpool SOUP is:
•a collaborative event for socially conscious people and those with great ideas
•a way to connect with like-minded people across the city
•a democratic experiment in crowdfunding
•a hub for the best new enterprise ideas germinating in the city
•a forum for critical but accessible discussion
•a chance to support ethical projects in Liverpool
We've been running the events since May 2015 and have so far promoted over a dozen new companies to hundreds of attendees. With eight winners so far, we've raised £3000 in seed funding for new microbusinesses. Join in and see what all the fuss is about.
We ask for a donation on the door, because if no money is raised on the door, there is no money for the best pitch on the night to win. We recommend you give a tenner, but please pay whatever you can afford.
