Scruff of the Neck are delighted to announce they will be hosting their own stage at Blackthorn Music Festival in the summer of 2015. The stage will run each evening on 24th, 25th and 26th of July in the picturesque setting of Whitebottom Farm.
Blackthorn Music Festival is a true celebration of city culture and rural produce. Manchester is responsible for creating and supporting some of the best music ever made, and the surrounding areas have produced some of the tastiest, highest quality food and drink available. If you come to Blackthorn, be assured that you will experience the best of the city along with the best of the countryside. We’ve also done our best to remove the bad bits, so no traffic and no cow poo – when Karl’s Aberdeen Angus cows move out the campers move in!
Blackthorn originally began life as a massive party to celebrate Laura Hancock going away to uni. Looking happily around the area, Karl realised that he could combine his love of music and food to create Manchester’s first credible music festival with camping. 2013 and 2014′s festival were a great success, now in 2015 Blackthorn Music festival are excited to announce that they have teamed up with Blastbeat, a charity that promotes young talent all over the country, www.blastbeat.org (Check out their webiste).
As well as top music, there will also be a variety of other arts showcased at Blackthorn. Dedicated areas for, live art, acoustic acts and spontaneous live art installations appear throughout the festival, so if you go for a wander away from the main stage you never know what you might come across. With a family friendly atmosphere throughout the day and a silent disco and jamming session from midnight on wards on both nights, Blackthorn will cater for your every cultural whim.
