Sari Shorr plus Matt Pierce

Sari Schorr, the Brooklyn-based musical force of nature, today announces a new all-star band lineup that will be making its first tour appearance together when her UK headline tour visits Anarchy Brew Co in Newcastle on Friday 19th April. Sari’s UK spring dates follow a sold-out European tour in 2023. On the back of two critically-claimed albums, ‘Force of Nature’ and ‘Never Say Never’ - and most recently, the 2023 Billboard chart-topping collaboration album with Robin Trower - Sari returns for a UK run of dates ahead of the release of her new solo album later this year. Joining the band on drums will be Lee Morris from iconic British rock band Magnum - and bassist Chris Cliff also joins the lineup on the back of tour and recording work with FM’s Jim Kirkpatrick. Ash Wilson, who has recently toured Europe with Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland, resumes on lead guitar duties with Sari for the UK tour. With the welcome arrival of Lee Morris on drums, Sari’s band will use the UK tour dates to pay a respectful tribute to Magnum’s songwriter Tony Clarkin, who recently passed away. In addition to adding a legendary song from the ‘A Storyteller’s Night’ album to the tour set list, Sari’s band will also be collecting donations for the Tony Clarkin’s animal welfare fundraiser at each of the UK shows. Animal welfare is also an issue close to Sari’s heart.
Sari’s UK tour dates will also feature the only live UK performances of songs from the Billboard chart-topping ‘Joyful Sky’ album that Sari worked on with blues guitar maestro Robin Trower last October. There are no plans for Sari and Robin to do a joint tour to promote this album, so Sari will give the live premiere of a number of songs from ‘Joyful Sky’ before attention turns to her new solo album, which will be out later this year. For the UK spring tour, Sari will be joined by special guests Matt Pearce and the Mutiny. The dates are presented by The Gig Cartel with support from national radio station Planet Rock. Ahead of the Newcastle show, Sari Schorr commented: “I’m really looking forward to our show at Newcastle on 19th April and the planets are aligning for what promises to be a very special night. I’m so excited to welcome Lee and Chris into the band; there’s already an exciting chemistry and the addition of ‘Joyful Sky’ songs into the set list will give fans a unique live experience that won’t be repeated after this run of spring dates. With Lee’s arrival, the whole band wanted to do something to pay tribute to the tremendous - and very British - music legacy of Magnum and we’ve already started rehearsing a cover of one of their great songs. “We would also like to take a moment to thank the team at Anarchy Brew Co for welcoming us to the town on Friday 19th April. The future of live music has been under threat since the pandemic and we all need to support the work of such important venues for keeping music alive. It’s going to be a special celebration of live music in Newcastle – do join us.”
