Diversify x ACS Film Night: Hidden Figures

🎬 Diversify Politics x ACS Film Night: Hidden Figures

Join the University of Manchester Diversify Politics and ACS societies for a special film night celebrating Black History Month!

We’ll be screening Hidden Figures, the inspiring true story of three Black women mathematicians, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, whose groundbreaking work at NASA helped make historic space missions possible despite the racial and gender discrimination they faced.

Following the screening, there will be an open discussion where everyone is welcome to share their reflections, thoughts and perspectives on the film, representation and the contributions of Black women to science and history.

📅 Date: Thursday 22 October 2026
🕒 Time: 3:00pm–6:00pm
📍 Location: University Place, Room 6.210, University of Manchester
🎟️ Tickets: Free!

Come along for an afternoon of film, conversation and community as we celebrate Black History Month together. Whether you’re a member of either society or simply interested in the film, everyone is welcome!

Please note: Food and refreshments will not be provided, so feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks.
