Larry Heard’s immense influence is only now starting to be understood
and appreciated. As a foundational member of the Chicago house
community, Heard proved time and again that drum machines and
synthesisers were capable of packing as much emotion, soul, heartbreak
and euphoria into a song as the most gifted analogue musician. Over a
