Introducing The Africa Centre and Tatale

Food For Thought: Surveying the African Culinary Scene in The UK

In a series brought to you by The Africa Centre and curated by Akwasi Brenya-Mensa, we look at today’s African and diaspora culinary landscape, with panel discussions, cooking demos and cultural performances from a lineup of guests and speakers across the British Hospitality Industry.

Week 1 - Thursday May 6th

Introducing The Africa Centre and Tatale

Kickstarting the first installment of Surveying the African Culinary Scene in The UK we invite Chefs Perry Jay (Akoko Restaurant), Adiyatu Sambe-Balde (Yatus Bakery) and Nyash Sakutukwa (Munch Club TV) to cook up their own version of Tatale (the well-loved ghanaian plantain pancake) served up for our guest tasting team including Sandra Omari and Belvin Tawuya. Each chef will bring their artistry to create a new dish that celebrates this culinary mainstay of the Black Experience. The Episode will be closed out by a DJ mix from our guest Sandra Omari.
