Cosmic Kitchen presents a U.F.O. (United For Ourselves) Special celebrating Transparent Sound’s 30th anniversary with the release of their compilation album on Germany’s mighty Tresor label.
U.F.O. Started in Plymouth many years ago going back to the roots of electronic music with a focus on those Electro sounds. A little story, Mitch used to travel to London on the hunt for new records, and he came across one record shop and found this record and he loved it. The record had a phone number on it and so he gave the number a call and spoke to a guy called Orson and invited him to come down to Plymouth to play at his U.F.O event.
They accepted the invitation and came down to Plymouth to play a live set.. turns out it was the first live set they ever played!!
Transparent Sound was the very first live act that was booked by U.F.O. and they played many times over the years so is only fitting that they return to where it all started.
This night was discussed way back in January with our very own champion of the underground Jeff who saw straight away the importance of going full circle and celebrating not only the fantastic achievement that Transparent Sound have made but also the return of Plymouth’s own “unidentified electro” night U.F.O.
Joining us for this one-off special is an original resident and much-respected player of the scene Mike Halloran aka Nanobot.
And introducing Torquay’s finest electro stalwart making his debut for U.F.O. Matt Willcocks aka Rogue Filter
And to round things off you have the founder of U.F.O. Michael Mitchell aka DJ Mitch one of Plymouth’s original B-Boys from the Fresh Collection Crew and a true champion for electro music for 40 years
Expect to hear the future while looking to the past.
