**Artist Bio: Shathi**
**About Shathi:**
Born Tashatha Joseph in 1998 in Gaborone City, Botswana, Shathi is a male artist hailing from the small settlement of Mbalambi in the northeast district. As the middle child of an older brother and sister, Shathi's journey into the world of music began at a young age, with sing-alongs, music classes, and participation in school musical plays.
**Early Passion for Music:**
His love for music was undeniable, and he had a remarkable talent for quickly learning song lyrics. However, it wasn't until his high school years that he began to explore his songwriting skills, particularly when preparing for talent shows. The passion for this art form continued to grow.
**Engineering and Music:**
After high school, Shathi pursued engineering, which consumed most of his time. Nevertheless, his dedication to music never waned. It was in 2020 that he made a life-changing decision to leave engineering school and focus entirely on his music career.
**Musical Milestones:**
Shathi's music journey took a significant leap when he collaborated with Hunter, featuring on five tracks from his EP "Naughty Corner," released on July 24, 2020. Later that year, he dropped his first official single, "Ke Bao," featuring Wandipa and Hunter, which was released on September 4, 2020. To his surprise, his debut single received a nomination for the 2021 YAMA Awards.
**"Sweet Fruit Juice" Album:**
In November 26, 2020, Shathi released his debut album, "Sweet Fruit Juice," which quickly gained recognition in the music industry. The hit song from the album, "Ameni," featuring Mandy Gopolang, Teeydor, and Hunter, climbed to number 3 on the charts. Most of his tracks were Amapiano, reflecting his roots and love for the genre he started with. However, he also explored hip-hop with his single "Kwalata," released on March 12, 2021, showcasing his versatility.
**Signature Style:**
Shathi is known as a storyteller in his music. He's not only a singer but also a rapper who started with freestyles. His unique style blends genres seamlessly, creating a captivating narrative through his music.
