Hoops' Fest, scheduled for April 20, 2024, is a 3v3 basketball tournament set to take place at Northumbria University's Sports Central facilities. Organized by a group of students as part of their third-year Sports Management course, the event responds to the remarkable interest in basketball within the North East of England. Bringing basketball into Northumbria we are offering an opportunity for students of all levels in the sport to participate and compete in our tournament in a friendly environment such as a social gathering. Within a friendly-competitive environment, non-casual basketball players have the opportunity to participate in an organized tournament opening themselves up for new experiences. The tournament will offer an affordable window of opportunity for students and community members 18 or older to engage in competitive basketball, especially for individuals outside of university or club affiliations. The tournament structure will include four half court 3v3 games that will progress at the same time to provide a flowing tournament with constant intensity. Group stages built up to knockout bracket rounds will provide excitement while also ensuring quality play time, which will be determined by the outcome of the matches.
