Gaza Gig VI: Kulk & Magnolia + Maya Law, Alexander Carson

The gig will be raising money for Gaza Soup Kitchen, a grassroots initiative led by the people of Gaza, serving hot meals to thousands daily across 10 kitchen sites. Born from a vow to ensure no neighbor goes hungry, their mission continues in honour of co-founder Mahmoud Almadhoun — guided by his last word, Mostamreen (“we will continue”).

KULK
We are Jade and Thom, we are from Norwich. Kulk is simultaneously an exploration into human suffering and an extension of our own relationship. Kulk reflects exactly what heavy music is, aggressive and brutal yet ultimately made out of love for the ones around us. We pride ourselves on our energetic and chaotic live performance. We have played amongst bands such as Part Chimp, Hey Colossus, Big Brave, Gnoomes and Portrayal of Guilt. Also touring twice with PigsX7 including shows at Electric Ballroom and Rock City.

MAGNOLIA
Magnolia are Adam Turner, Daisy Green, George Rodgers, Harrison Peak, Tom Reynolds, Matthew Creegan and Matthew Cassie. They make experimental post-rock. “It feels like you’re fumbling in the dark, excavating layers to the beginning or the end of the world. From the depths of this crafted cacophony, spring chinks of delicate melody - Magnolia are an experience…” - Shit Horse Disco

MAYA LAW
It’s no secret that Maya Law has a voice and songwriting ability far beyond her years on the planet. Raised in the spacious quiet of Norfolk, Maya has created an expansive sound to match - one that warmly invites you alongside as she navigates life as a queer woman, encounters heartbreak and offers refreshingly candid snapshots into her own mental wellbeing.

ALEXANDER CARSON
Alexander Carson is a non-binary singer-songwriter/composer based in Norwich. They are inspired by the mundanity of modernity and aim to articulate the absurdity of human existence in their music. This is all presented with a surrealist sense of humour to soften the often melancholic timbre of the music. Essentially they are trying to set one Oscar Wilde quote to music: "Life is much too important a thing ever to talk seriously about."
