The Future of Video Games - Adventures in Virtual Reality (MCR pop up)

Welcome to the 'Future of Video Games' a one month pop up event taking place at Future Artists Studios 77-79 Chapel Street, Manchester,  throughout February 2018.

So what is it!

The Future of Video games is a small scale Virtual Reality Arcade, showcasing tomorrows cutting edge video games and experiences today! - as a creative collective, we decided that it was time that Manchester got to experience some of the best VR experiences in a VR friendly environment, in a peaceful immersive Space, in a curated creative place for VR by VR creators - gone are the noisy arcade spaces with VR bolted on, Gone are the expensive pay by the experience thinking of major corporations - at our pop up we have hopefully created, a curated, family friendly and fun experience for all - so come and take your first steps into tomorrows video games with us today!

What VR Games do you have? (2nd feb to 2nd march 2018)

Ever wanted to be in Star Wars, how about with BB8 as your side kick!

In Star Wars: Droid Repair Bay by ILMxLAB, Poe Dameron's sidekick needs your help. Repair BB-8 and his astromech droid friends, each with their own unique personalities, so they can roll back into the fight against the First Order.

Ever wanted to be a Jedi? - we also have the Trials on Tatoonine

Commence your Jedi training in this Star Wars™ virtual reality demo experience. Repair the Millennium Falcon, defend it from attack by Imperial Stormtroopers, and wield a Lightsaber™.

And when your done fighting the galaxy, how about trying to set the fastest lap in our Grand Turismo VR flying lap challenge

and once you have done - how about save the universe in EVE : Valkyrie - War Zone

So how does it work?

We have a variety of timed slots that run throughout the day, each session is for ADVANCE BOOKING only, each session lasts for 3 hours and holds 14 people - you can book out an entire session if you like just to yourself (e-mail info@futureartists.co.uk to do this), or share the session with other virtual reality explorers, we also have tickets for non VR players, but to take part in the VR, you will need a full price explorer ticket.

During your 3 hours you will be introduced to a variety of VR experiences, for the up to date list of experiences, please see our facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/Videogameseventsandtours -

Each month we will have a curated selection of the best new VR and Video Game experiences on the HTC Vive and Playstation VR.

For our HTC experiences we have a custom built VR performance area, designed by light! and for the Playstation VR experiences, we are using the latest haptic rigs to totally immerse the player in the game!.

How much VR will I get to play and what happens while I wait my turn?

We have designed the experience so that each VR explorer will get the chance to go on everything! maybe twice! - each VR game and experience will last between 10-20 minutes, and any downtime can be spent in our cool Future of Video Games cafe, where we have Nintendo Switch Mario Kart (2player) , Xbox One with Fifa18 (2player) and a SNES mini with over 30 classic video games + more announced soon

Why is each session limited to just a few people.

We firmly believe that Virtual Reality should be a relaxed and fun experience, and we think its the new cinema, video games and theatre experience combined, and so with this in mind, each session is limited to 14 people, each session lasts for 3 hours and each session has a VR Host on hand to look after you, we have a small licensed cafe, serving tea, coffee and soft drinks, and in the evenings we also have a selection of Craft Beer on sale, alongside snacks and our world famous pick n mix range!

So you could be a first time VR explorer, or you could be a VR veteran - our Host's are their for everyone, if you have any questions, please message us via our facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/Videogameseventsandtours/
