Running Tights

Running Tights is an audio walk that will transport you into the day of Wednesday the 12th of January 2022. You will play one character either Ashling or Jozef. The choice is up to you. Ashling is a 23-year-old who likes to run and keeps her keys on her at all times. Jozef is a 31-year-old that wears a black tracksuit and owns a Falcon Mountain Bike. Dependent on your choice will decide your route. Both characters will take you through Peel Park and along the River Irwell. Who will you decide to be?

For this performance, you will need your phone, your headphones and make sure your mobile data is on, so you don’t lose signal. This walk will be through Peel Park and along River Irwell please make sure you accommodate and prepare for all sorts of weather.

WARNING: Suitable for ages 18+. This performance explores women’s safety in public spaces containing themes of sexism and misogyny, stalking and assault, while uses a template of a real case that some might find distressing.

Arrival is an annual festival that showcases new work from emerging artists at the University of Salford studying MA Contemporary Performance Practice. This year it will include performances from six upcoming practitioners, offering a range mediums including autobiographical intermedial work, playwrighting, noise, audio walks and installation art.

The event will also host the first two recipients of the Liam Byrne Award, Ali Wilson and Seán Fitton.

Admission is free!
