101 Princess Street, the building Cruz 101 is located in was built in 1869 and was originally a bonded shipping warehouse. It was refurbished from derelict in 1986 and we transformed the basement and sub-basement floors in 1991. The building is grade two listed which places strict controls and obligations on us. As a result of this, the original structure of the building and the importance of your health and safety, there are limitations to the physical changes that can be made to the existing structure. Our entrance is located at street level so poses no ’level change’ problems, but as there is a flight of nine steps into the main area of the club, access may be difficult for some wheelchair users to navigate.
The club operates a policy requiring wheelchair users to be accompanied by a minimum of two assistants to help with access to and exit from the premises, and for assistance in the case of an emergency evacuation. As it is a requirement placed on users by the club, we welcome up to two assistants as our guests.
If you have any special needs or requirements that we could help with to make your visit to Cruz 101 more enjoyable we would be more than happy to discuss these with you.
