The evolution of running. Matt Brown (Premier Fitness training instructor) 

Matt is an experienced lecturer in fitness and sports massage. He has spent 12 years qualifying over 5000 people.  He was a committed club athlete in his youth and is a barefoot running coach. 

Matt will run through the main evolutionary adaptions outlined by a study by Harvard university that make the case for humans being the ‘the running ape’.  From the shape of our heads, the smoothness of our skin, the length of our limbs and the angle of our pelvis evolution has shaped our anatomy and physiology to make us awesome at running (all be it quite slowly).

Richard Emmerson BA (Dunelm) M.Ost. ND DO. FAFS GIFT Director Pure Dynamic Osteopathy. Richard graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) in 2009.  He was born and educated in Crouch End and now practices in Hornsey Town Hall.  He specializes in running rehabilitation and has a passion for biomechanics and function.  He has completed GIFT, functional rehabilitation under the Gray Institute in Michigan, USA. Richard comes from a strong sporting background having previously represented England Rugby U19, U18 and Saracens U21.

Dr Ademola Adejuwon is a Musculoskeletal Physician, specialising in Sports and Exercise Medicine.  Dr Adejuwon qualified from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Hospital's Medical School.

Dr Adejuwon has been the club doctor at Saracens Rugby Club, since 2007. He was also a medical team leader during the London 2012 Olympics and part of the medical delivery team during the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

He is an Honorary Consultant at University College Hospital London with a particular interest in diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound scanning.
